Movember

SAE brothers participating in Movember

Sigma Alpha Epsilon proudly partners with Movember in our philanthropic efforts, a global movement dedicated to changing the face of men’s health. What began as a simple idea, grow a mustache and spark conversations, has evolved into a worldwide campaign raising awareness and funds for three major men’s health issues: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Movember’s mission is to help men live happier, healthier, and longer lives. Through the efforts of its “Mo Bros” and “Mo Sisters,” the organization collaborates with top researchers and medical experts to fund groundbreaking treatments, build community-based mental health programs, and make support resources more accessible than ever.

As a fraternity founded on brotherhood, leadership, and service, SAE recognizes that men’s health is an issue that hits close to home. The statistics are sobering:

  • Three out of four suicides are men.
  • One in nine men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime.
  • Testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men.
  • A boy born in 2025 can expect to live five years less than a girl.

Behind every statistic is a brother, a friend, or a loved one. That’s why SAE encourages chapters and individual members to partake in Movember — whether by growing a mustache, hosting an awareness event, fundraising for the cause, or simply checking in on a brother.

SAE and Movember aim to empower men to talk about their health, seek help when needed, and take proactive steps toward well-being. Every dollar raised, every conversation started, and every mustache grown helps us move closer to a world where men live longer, fuller lives.
