Hurricane Dorian was the first major hurricane of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season. Starting on August 24th before dissipating on September 10th, it caused significant damage and devasted the Carribean — at least 70,000 people were left homeless. With a member hailing from the Bahamas, the undergraduates at Delta State University (Mississippi Delta-Sigma) felt the impact more than others. The chapter is collecting supplies (clothes and toiletries) to aid emergency services and is also accepting monetary donations.
