The Fraternal Government Relations Coalition (FGRC) is a nonpartisan coalition formed by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), the Fraternity and the Sorority Political Action Committee, and the Fraternity and Sorority Action Fund will work collaboratively on federal government relations issues that impact the fraternity and sorority community. Each year, the FGRC provides the opportunity for collegiate fraternity and sorority members to directly engage in the federal legislative process by lobbying on issues of importance to our community.
FGRC is seeking outstanding campus and chapter leaders to participate in the FGRC Capitol Hill Visits in Washington, D.C., where you will meet with lawmakers and/or their staff in April 2024 to advocate for government relations platforms developed by NPC and NIC. These topics include protecting student freedom of association rights, creating national anti-hazing laws, and improving college affordability. You should not apply if you do not feel comfortable advocating for these legislative issues.
The FGRC Hill Visits will take place in Washington, D.C. April 9-10, 2024. If selected, you will be expected to participate in prep work and virtual training sessions leading up to the visits, travel to Washington, D.C., and be fully available throughout both days of the visits. It is important that you know you will need to miss class to participate in the meetings with lawmakers and should be prepared to plan accordingly with professors.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the application by January 1, 2024, https://form.jotform.com/233125748667061, to let us know of your interest. Students will be notified of whether they were selected to participate in February.
