47TH ANNUAL ΣAE NATIONAL AMATEUR GOLF TOURNAMENT CROWNS CHAMPIONS IN THREE FLIGHTS

Pensacola, FL – The 47th Annual Sigma Alpha Epsilon National Amateur Golf Tournament was held at Perdido Bay Golf Club in Pensacola, Florida, May 2-3, 2025. Despite some high winds during Round 1 and three inches of rain leading into the final round, 18 teams with brothers from as far away as California and Minnesota competed to take home championships in each of the three flights.

Brothers Alan Fuller (GA Phi) and Jack Williams (FL Beta) took the title in the Minerva Flight, holding off a second nine-birdie barrage by Brothers Chris Brown (MN Alpha) and Steve Bump (MN Alpha), who birdied six of the nine holes. Fuller and Williams shot a two-day total of 135 to win by three strokes. Third place went to Brothers Sandy Brasher (LA Tau Upsilon) and Mark Orr (GA Phi) with a two-day total of 140.

Devotie Flight champions were Brothers Barry Landry (LA Alpha) and Ryan Miller (LA Alpha), making some clutch par putts down the stretch to shoot a two-day total of 153 to hold off a charge by Brothers Davis Perkins (FL Sigma) and Mitchell Brooks (FL Sigma), who shot a two-day total of 156, to win by three strokes. The win was the third since the two-man format was adopted in 2016 for the Landry/Miller team. Third place went to Brothers Michael Davis (FL Sigma) and Raymond Bradley (FL Sigma) with a two-day total of 156.

The team of Ashton Mitchell (AL Mu) and Bennett Gaston (FL Upsilon) set the pace in the Levere Flight, winning by 20 strokes over the runners-up, Brothers Clarence Pape (FL Sigma) and Gary Delgado (FL Sigma), who carded a two-day total of 175. Third place went to Brothers Dave Moon (FL Sigma) and Matt Turner (FL Sigma) with a two-day total of 177.

Friday’s longest drive was hit by Brother Clifton Mitchell (FL Sigma) on the par five 15th hole, closest to the pin was Brother Barry Landry (LA Alpha) on the par three 8th hole.

Special thanks to Seville Quarter for donating the BBQ dinner for the opening night cookout and Chet’s Catering and Seafood for cooking a fantastic array of fried seafood and fixings after play on Friday.

The 48th ΣAE National Amateur Golf Tournament is set for April 30-May 2, 2026. Find a brother to team with and start planning to come experience brotherhood, golf, sun, and the sugar white beaches of the Florida Gulf Coast with us next year as we build toward our 50th Anniversary event in 2028.
