Spencer Long (Central Michigan ’08) received the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) from the National Eagle Scout Association.
The NOESA is an award of the Boy Scouts of America, recognizing Eagle Scouts that have demonstrated outstanding service at the local, state, regional, or national levels and voluntarily share their talents with their communities. Only six percent of Scouts attain Eagle Scout, the highest rank available. Of those, only one out of every 100 Eagle Scouts receives the NOESA. Recipients often inspire others through their actions and have devoted a lifetime to their profession and personal beliefs.
“Our goal with the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award is to recognize Eagle Scouts whose efforts have made a significant impact and have inspired others closer to home,” said Glenn Adams, Vice-President of the National Eagle Scout Association.
Long is active nationally within the Boy Scouts of America and is also involved with NASPA: Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education. He has over ten years of higher education experience, notably in Academic Affairs, Public and Government Affairs, and Fraternity and Sorority Life. Long is currently the Senior Director of Member Education and Development for Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
A consummate volunteer, Long has also served SAE as Chapter Advisor, Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee, Province Mu Council, and faculty at educational events. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award, Order of the Lion, Order of Minerva, and the Merit Key
