Beyond Adventures is offering Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s undergraduate and alumni members, including family members, an opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Summer 2019. Beyond the thrill of climbing the highest peak in Africa, this trek is also an opportunity for participants to CLIMB FOR A CAUSE.
Consistent with SAE’s vision of True Gentlemen Making Our Global Community Better, you will have the opportunity to volunteer at a local school and interact with residents of a remote Tanzanian village before the climb. You will also have the option to fund raise and spotlight a charity of your choice as you ascend one of the world’s Seven Summits
This is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to GO BEYOND the familiar and embrace life outside your comfort zone, all in the company of fellow SAE brothers. Are you ready? Complete the interest form.

WHO IS ORGANIZING THE TRIP? This trip is being organized and operated exclusively by Beyond Adventures, a U.S. based company that has specialized in Mount Kilimanjaro treks for the past 12 years. To date, Beyond Adventures has safely organized more than 180 trips to Tanzania and they have accommodated more than 2,500 adventurers, while achieving a summit success rate on Mount Kilimanjaro of higher than 95%. Beyond Adventures tailors its trips to incorporate extreme adventure with unique cross-cultural encounters with local people and communities, all with the intended outcome of its participants gaining a greater appreciation and understanding of the world while discovering oneself more fully through the excursion.
WHY CLIMB WITH SAE? Sigma Alpha Epsilon is exploring new opportunities with experienced operators to bring its undergraduate and alumni members together on adventures around the globe. Consistent with SAE’s mission, the intended outcome of such programs is to build lasting friendships across the Realm and to deliver unique and substantive educational value while serving our global community. The Mt. Kilimanjaro trek will serve as a guidepost for future opportunities.
WHEN, WHO AND HOW MUCH? The target date for this trip is July 22 through August 5, 2019 (TBD). SAE undergraduate members, alumni members and their families are invited to participate. The Mt. Kilimanjaro ascent does not require technical mountain climbing skills and, as such, the trek is open to most healthy adventurers. The cost will vary based upon the number of climbers (limited to 25), ranging from $6,500 to $7,500 per person. The Beyond Adventures cost will include all ground transportation, meals, lodging and the all-inclusive Mt. Kilimanjaro 7-day trek. Participants will be responsible for their own airfare, required vaccinations, tips and other incidentals. Through an optional fundraising campaign, undergraduate participants may be able to offset a portion of their trip expense related to the education and service components.
