The Record Online

The Record Online is the official online publication for Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Alongside the printed magazine The Record, this publication is dedicated to chapter and alumni news, events and opportunities, and serves a way for brothers to stay connected with the organization.

Donor Spotlight: Doyle Knudson (South Dakota ’74)

Sigma Alpha Epsilon depends on your generosity to elevate our members’ experience to the highest levels—learning how to become True Gentlemen and taking that knowledge out into the world. We want to highlight just one of our many donors who support this organization.

What was your favorite SAE memory?
There are multiple memories I had at SAE. Living in our house for 3 1/2 years, the Brotherhood fun, and great friends were the best memories.

What advice do you have for undergraduates?
The time goes very rapidly so my advice for our collegiate Brothers is to participate and take every opportunity that presents itself academically, and with SAE, as this will pay dividends for you personally and professionally for the rest of your lives.

Why do you give to SAE?
Giving to SAE has been a priority. Participation is important to afford the same opportunities I had for our brothers at South Dakota Sigma and the University of South Dakota.

What offices did you hold?
I had the privilege to serve as House Manager and also Eminent Archon of South Dakota Sigma. Great leadership experiences!

What have you done professionally?
Once out of college I had a 27-year career in third party logistics with C.H. Robinson Worldwide starting in 1975 in Minneapolis, MN., transferred in 1977 to Lake Wales, FL, transferred in 1979 to Houston, TX. and transferred in 1983 to El Paso, TX. Retired from C.H. Robinson in 2002. In 2002 I was elected as a trustee of the University of South Dakota and was elected in 2005 serving thru 2015 to the University of South Dakota Foundation Board, serving as Chairman in the years 2011-2013. In 2014, I co-founded and currently serve as a Director of Hypur Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ. Hypur is a Financial Tech/Regulation Tech Company providing technology services for the banking industry. After retiring from C.H. Robinson Company in 2002 my wife, Rachel, and I with our two sons, Jace and Tony, relocated from El Paso, TX. to Paradise. Valley, AZ.
