As the Fraternity works to fulfill its mission of advancing the highest standards of friendship, scholarship, leadership, and service for our members throughout life, we are ever-evolving to meet the needs of our Chapters and our members throughout the Realm.
Since reinstituting our beloved Leadership School and adopting a new database and Learning Management System (LMS), the Fraternity Service Center staff realized we might have been offering too many programs and, as a result, might have been forcing Chapters and members to pick and choose which programs to attend.
After reviewing the feedback and evaluating our current leadership development offerings, the Fraternity Service Center staff presented a proposal that the Supreme Council endorsed at their January meeting, which would eliminate the Emerging Leaders Academy and our Executives Academy as standalone programs.
In looking to the future, the Fraternity instead will now offer Leadership School and Ritual Academy as our two annual in-person programs. Ritual Academy will continue to provide initiated brothers with the experience to learn about the Ritual of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and its application in both chapter and individual life, while Leadership School will evolve to offer both a leadership track for general members and a management track for chapter officers. We will also expand self-paced program offerings through the LMS for collegiate and alumni members.
Moving forward, Ritual Academy will be held in Evanston in early August, before collegiate members return to school for the fall, and Leadership School will be held in early January, right after most collegiate officers have begun their new term.
