Bob Gasser (Michigan State ’57) is the most recent recipient of the Merit Key, the second-highest recognition Sigma Alpha Epsilon can bestow on an alumnus. The award is reserved for those who demonstrate significant service and loyalty to the Fraternity on national, regional and local levels.
Gasser was the co-chairman and instrumental in the success of the “Realizing the Bill Fiscus Vision” Capital Campaign to renovate the chapter house at Michigan State, which has raised over $800,000 to date. He continues to organize the Michigan Gamma 1950s and 1960s class reunions, which are held almost every year. Gasser is also an Order of Minerva recipient and as an undergraduate, served as Eminent Archon.
