A Founders’ Day celebration was held in St. Louis, Missouri, this past weekend, where the chapter honored SAE Founder Samuel Marion Dennis with a Founder’s Day Service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. It was a solemn yet inspiring ceremony, made even more meaningful by the presence of Brothers from St. Louis and beyond — including Rick Shipley (Evansville ’79) from the SAE Historical Society, who traveled from Evansville, IN, to join.
The Order of Ceremonies for the Founders’ Day Service included the following:
- Welcome
- Remarks on the Importance of Remembrance
- Remarks on the Founding of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
- Recitation of the Life of Founder Samuel Marion Dennis
- Excerpts from the Memorial Service of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
- Prayer
- Singing of Friends
- Dismissal
- Photographs
- Post-Event Gathering
