Dennis Barger’s Path from Executive to Author

Dennis Barger is the oldest of six siblings raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended the University of Cincinnati, graduating in 1980 with a BA in English Literature and a Business certificate. He was a
member of the Cincinnati (Ohio Epsilon) chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Following graduation, he secured a position as a trainee with a prominent

insurance company. He managed a 44-year career, spanning six companies and relocating to multiple cities (Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Lexington, New Orleans, Hartford, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta). Dennis held various executive leadership positions during his career. He founded a Southeast Regional Insurance operating company for a global insurer specializing in business protection. He recently retired as Chairman.

He and his wife of 43 years reside in Duluth, GA, a suburb of Atlanta. They have three married adult children and three grandsons.

He is an avid golfer and enjoys woodworking, hiking trails in north Georgia, daily walks with his Wheaten Terrier, hunting, skiing, going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dennis is now pursuing a career as a novelist. He has released his debut novel, A Secret Soldier’s Confession. The book is a historical fiction/action & adventure novel that moves from the present to weave through WWII. The story features a female protagonist, an international setting, a historical hook, and puzzle-solving escapades. Book Summary

Emma and Jordan are married and recent US Naval Academy graduates who live in Annapolis.
They make a trip to Rocky Mount, NC, to join the extended Miller family, who will attend Emma’s grandfather’s funeral. Following the funeral, at the reading of the will, a secret about her grandfather is revealed. This secret sets Emma and Jordan on a journey to discover her grandfather’s unknown family in Germany. They find out another secret after meeting the family, which launches Emma and Jordan on an adventure

across Europe, the Canary Islands, and Argentina, uncovering lost Nazi treasure and other Nazi secrets. They are called upon to assist in thwarting terrorist plans by the new Nazi party. Their adventure requires solving multiple clues and codes while encountering several hazards. Their journey weaves them through historical events and WWII locations while unraveling the current time’s mystery.
