The Texas Christian University (Texas Beta) chapter jumped into this year’s Movember challenge, and they’ve already made an incredible impact. The chapter has raised $14,233, a dramatic leap from last year’s total of just $2,462.
Their success came from a coordinated, all-hands-on-deck outreach strategy that blended email, text, and personal phone calls. For email appeals, the chapter crafted a concise, newsletter-style message that outlined Movember’s mission, emphasized the importance of men’s health, and linked directly to their donation page. Many brothers added a personal touch by sharing short stories or explaining why they were participating, an effort that noticeably boosted engagement.
Text message outreach followed a streamlined template that made it easy for brothers to spread the word to friends, family, and alumni. Each message included a quick explanation of the cause, a progress update, and a direct link to give. A handful of brothers even sent weekly follow-ups, which helped drive a strong wave of last-minute support as the month came to a close.
“This year, our chapter’s commitment to Movember really embodied the spirit of the True Gentleman. We focused on serving others with sincerity, humility, and genuine compassion—putting the well-being of men in our community at the forefront. By approaching our outreach with honesty and empathy, and by encouraging open conversations about men’s health, we were able to connect with more people than ever before. That sincere approach helped us raise over $7,000 more than we did last year, showing how meaningful impact grows when our actions reflect the values we strive to live by,” Will Davidson, Service and Philanthropy Chairman, shared.
