The Highest Effort Award is presented to Joshua L. Welch the 6th day of December 2024 by the Supreme Council of Sigma Alpha Epsilon in recognition of his achievements in the field of higher education.
Brother Welch has served higher education institutions for nearly 20 years, most notably as Director of Greek Life at the University of Georgia, one of the nation’s largest fraternity and sorority communities. He was elected to serve as the 2025-2026 President of the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors, where he has served as a Board of Directors member since December 2022.
He previously served Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity as a Regional Director from 2012-2014 and has served as a faculty member to numerous Fraternity Executive Association, North-American Interfraternity Conference, campus-based, and fraternity/sorority focused leadership and professional development programs and events.
He has been recognized by the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors with the Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award, the North Carolina State University Division of Academic and Student Affairs Pride of the Wolfpack Award, and the University of Georgia Division of Student Affairs Lifelong Learner Award.
