The 27th Annual SAE Reunion Classic Weekend was held Friday and Saturday, May 31 and June 1, 2024, in Biloxi.
Record attendance occurred again this year. The Friday night social at Wahoo’s Pool Bar at The Palace Casino Hotel was enjoyed by all as young and old SAEs, wives, and friends were together to share stories and great memories of times well spent at Southern Miss.
Saturday’s golf round at Shell Landing included a record 17 four-man teams in a 4-ball scramble. The winning teams consisted of Aaron Baker (on his 30th birthday), Cody Ducote, Eric Granberry, and Peyton Letard, Team #8, and Scott Bancroft, Jack Rush, Mike Wilkins, and Roy Robinson, Team #15. The closest to the pin winners were Charlie Sevier and Cameron Lott. Greg Gough won the longest drive.
Another record crowd attended Saturday night’s buffet at The Biloxi Yacht Club, where Mitzi M. Harper was honored with the Order of the Violet Award for her long-time support and service for SAE. Bob Douglas and Steve Irwin received their 50 Year Member Certificates. Paul Sims was awarded The Merit Key – SAE’s 2nd highest award – for outstanding service to the Fraternity. Ken Inman was honored with The Order of Minerva for long-time service and loyalty to the Fraternity at Southern Miss.
Ken Inman was also the recipient of the 2024 Mack Harper Alumni Brotherhood Award for instituting and spearheading the Mississippi Sigma Chapter Alumni Fund, for which over $43,000 has been contributed by Southern Miss SAE Alumni, the SAE Chapter, and former Southern Miss SAE Little Sisters of Minerva thus far for long term support of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Southern Miss.
