On March 9, 2021, the North American Interfraternity Council (NIC) hosted a Town Hall following two student deaths, both allegedly related to fraternity hazing activities. While these tragedies do not involve Sigma Alpha Epsilon, let us take this time to grieve for these young men, their families, and our interfraternal friends and reflect upon how these losses will forever change the lives of many. Hazing in any form has no place in fraternities today, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

The panelists, which include risk management experts and parents who have lost their sons to hazing, discuss critical steps that every fraternity community should be taking at this time. We encourage everyone to share this important conversation about the tragic combination of hazing and alcohol with council leaders, chapter leaders, advisors, and volunteers.
